Beauty beneath the surface

Every woman wants to look good. NO. Every woman wants to look AMAZING!

We pour money into products to cover up our flaws and accent our best qualities. We long to gaze in the mirror and have it answer back that we are the fairest of them all. Well, let me share a couple of secrets with you.

First, beauty is not skin deep. It starts inside our bodies. What we put IN our bodies will ultimately determine the glow on our skin. I always tell people that if you are having challenges on the surface of your skin, you should probably take a look under the hood. Talk to your healthcare professional about what might be the root cause of your problems. Keep feeding your body healthy food. Get moving (exercise, UGH!). Clean up your environment. And eliminate as many harmful ingredients from your personal care regimen as possible.

THEN you are ready to add healthy options for skin care. My Women’s Personal Care newsletter has some great suggestions to consider, so get a copy and see where you might be able to augment your beauty care stash!

Would you love to have glowing skin? Well, check out this list of some amazing essential oils that are simple to use and produce amazing results. Here is the trick. You are going to want to identify what type of skin you have. Then, pick a few essential oils that address your particular needs. Next combine just one drop of two or three of the oils you selected with an organic oil like jojoba or coconut oil (say 50/50) and gently massage them onto your face each night at bedtime. You will be amazed at the results.

So here is a very short list (There is a longer list in the newsletter):

  • Lavender (cleanse)
  • Geranium (hydrate)
  • Frankincense (smooth fine lines)
  • Sandalwood (balance)
  • Myrrh (just plain good!)

My Swiss Army Knife

Often people ask me what is my favorite essential oil. They assume that since I love so many of the oils I will have a hard time choosing just one. They are quite surprised when I answer without any hesitation.

Frankincense – actually Sacred Frankincense!

Why? Frankincense is so versatile. I once heard there is an ancient hieroglyphic that loosely translated says Frankincense is good for everything from head to toe!

That has been my experience.

Once when I was having difficulty breathing, I simply opened my bottle of Frankincense and inhaled. Two words literally popped into my mind: “Thank You!” Relief was almost instant.

Wintertime fitness

I have been struggling with getting enough exercise during these cold, cold winter weeks. I don’t want to drive someplace in the cold to work out. But since I am thinking about fitness, I thought you might like to hear some ideas for essential oils to enhance your fitness program.

Breathing a drop of lavender and orange help relax before or after training.

 

Peppermint or Balsam Fir help focus and strengthen.

Lemon is refreshing and uplifting.

Frankincense is great for connecting your body and spirit to God
