Men travel light

When men travel, as a general rule they pack much lighter than the ladies do. Usually my quart baggie is jam packed with various bottles of liquids and gels to get through TSA security. My husband on the other hand will have only a few items in his baggie! Toothpaste, Shampoo, Soap, Lotion, Deodorant, and Lip Balm are typical for him.

Apparently Young Living “gets it”! One of the great products recently released is Shutran 3-IN-1 Men’s Wash. It’s a face wash, shampoo and body wash all in one. It was created specifically for men and infused with the rich, woodsy Shutran essential oil blend.

The Sutran 3-IN-1 Men’s Wash comes in two sizes. An 8-ounce bottle for the home shower, and a 3-ounce size that is TSA compliant. I love how they thought that out!

True to Young Living’s standard of providing safe products that are free of harmful chemicals, Shutran 3-IN-1 Men’s Wash is formulated with 100 percent plant-based, naturally derived ingredients. It is free of gluten and soy ingredients, but is not certified gluten-free. It is vegan friendly, has been dermatologist tested and is hypoallergenic. It does not contain sulfates, parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, animal-derived ingredients, synthetic fragrances, or synthetic colorants.

What a great product to have when you want to travel light and still use top quality personal care products!

Snacks on the go

Do you “fall off the wagon” when making food, beverage and snack choices while traveling?

You pull in for gas or a “pit stop” and the choices for snacks and beverages are often well below the wellness standard you try to maintain at home.

I am so thankful for the many great options Young Living offers to keep me hydrated and satisfied; and because of that, I find most convenience store choices less appealing.

  • One of my favorites is NingXia Red. In fact, if you toss a few of the single travel packs in the freezer, they make a great cold pop snack for the kids!
  • I love the Chocolate Coated Wolfberry Crisp Bars. They satisfy my cravings for chocolate and fill me up in a healthy way!
  • When I need some energy to keep going, I reach for a NingXia Nitro shot.
  • And for a cool refreshing burst of energy and taste, there is NingXia Zyng.

These are just a few of my favorites. But there are a lot of great options available. And get this: I rarely have to purchase these items, because I save up my product points and get them for free!

In my newsletter called Oils On The Go, you also will find other suggestions for making better choices when you are on the go or traveling. And you can contact me to learn how to get free products.

Travel tips

Gone are the days when we could take anything and everything we use at home on a plane with us. I remember the days when we carried a whole case full of personal care products and snacks and you-name-it right on the plane with us. Those days are over. Now, we have the 3-1-1 rule. One 1-quart bag to hold all our liquids and gels and none of those containers can be larger than 3 ounces.

If you are a serious essential oils user, this can be a frustrating thing. You want all you healthy non-toxic personal care products. You want your healthy snacks. AND you want your essential oils! No, you’re not asking for the moon and stars, you just want your beloved oils and products!

I get that. I want to share two solutions with you and a tip.

The Bon Voyage Travel Kit is awesome! It’s a collection of commonly used personal care products, all in TSA approved sizes!  YEAH! Love this. Truly, you do need this!

Sample Bottles for your favorite oils. When I go on a long trip, I never know what I might need. Granted, I might only need a few drops, but I want to have all the oils I reach for often. The sample bottles I carry hold about 20-25 drops. I get the Young Living Bottle Labels and stick them on the sides of the bottles so I know what oil is in the bottle. I have been known to carry as many as 50 sample bottles on a trip! And guess what, they all fit in my quart bag along with my personal care containers! Sometimes I can even tuck an NingXia Red pack in the bag too!

And now for my tip: The oils don’t drop out of those sample bottles like they do the bigger bottles. So how do you get the oils to come out? This is golden! Take the cover off the sample bottle (leave the reducer in place) and hold the bottle between your thumb and middle finger. Just tap the bottom of the bottle with your index finger. Voila! A drop will SHOOT out of the reducer top into your other hand!

In my newsletter called Oils On The Go, you will find more ideas for using essential oils when you travel, including ideas for a travel first-aid kit.

Oils to carry when you are on the go

Summer is a time when a lot of people travel. In fact, I am doing a fair amount of traveling this summer. So I got to thinking this is a good time to talk about how essential oils can fit into our travel plans, as well as what oils are always good to have “on you” when you are out and about town.

Today, let’s focus on the oils and products I normally carry.

This is a picture of the products I pulled out of my purse this morning. They represent a versatile collection of products that I always want to have with me.

My Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier – well, what can I say? It’s pure and leaves my hands feeling clean and soft. Not to mention, that is just plain smells great!

Thieves Spray is perfect for spraying on surfaces I may have to be in contact with that, well, let’s face it, probably I wouldn’t want to touch if I knew what had been there before me! It’s also great to freshen up the air in a smelly place, if you know what I mean.

The Cinnamint Lip Balm and L Briante’™ Lip Gloss keep my lips looking and feeling great.

Frankincense is my “Swiss Army Knife” of essential oils. I love it and it is great for any unexpected need from head to toe.

Inner Defense keeps my Immune System strong and as you can see, I keep a few capsules in a small pill box in my purse at all times. You just never know who might want a boost! I also carry a few Thieves Lozenges, which I forgot to pull out of my purse for the picture!

Finally, there are three roll-ons that are my go-to oils after Frankincense. Stress Away, Breathe Again, and Deep Relief. In my opinion, they pretty much cover nearly any situation that might crop up. In fact, let me tell you a quick story to demonstrate their versatility. And really, isn’t that what you want when you are away from home — versatility?

I was at an event and this young girl stepped on a rusty nail. She was in a total panic. I was one of the ladies trying to calm her and handle this emergency. Of course she needed medical attention, but the immediate need was to calm her, ease her pain, and clean the wound. And so in that order, my brain said, “You’ve got oils for this!” Stress Away calmed and quieted her uncontrolled crying. Next, I could reason with her that we can make this feel better. Deep Relief to the rescue! Finally, once she was calm and feeling better, we could clean the wound and apply Breathe Again. Why Breathe Again? Well, my knowledge about what is in it told me that it had properties that would be cleansing and just be helpful. As I always say, “If you don’t have what you need, use what you have.” Crisis over and she was on her way for professional help!

So you see, essential oils are a must for me when I am ON THE GO!

Bon Voyage

20100316_G11_1032

When we travel, we generally do not take our larger “at home” bottles of various personal care products. Most people will go to the store and purchase sample sized products for travel.

The problem for the health-conscious label reader is most of these products are below our standard of purity and safety. They contain numerous toxic ingredients we are not used to using. Introducing toxins to our system while traveling is the last thing we want to do. It increases our chance of getting sick and ruining a perfectly wonderful vacation.

This summer, Young Living Essential Oils introduced a travel kit that solves this problem!

 20140625_G11_2351

The Bon Voyage Travel Pack offers 10 Young Living personal-care products inside an attractive, custom-designed, Young Living bag:

  1. Cinnamint Lip Balm
  2. Genesis Lotion
  3. Lavender Conditioner, 2 oz
  4. Lavender Shampoo, 2 oz
  5. Morning Start Bath & Body Gel, 2 oz
  6. Thieves Dental Floss
  7. Thieves Mouthwash, 2 oz
  8. Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier, 1 oz

Now you can travel with safe and effective products that are packaged in TSA approved sized containers! Happy trails to you!
