Consider this: Do you brush your teeth? Do you wash your clothes or your dishes? Do you like to eat healthy and tasty food? Do you keep supplements and cleaning products in your cupboards? Of course you do! So why not just switch brands to a more healthy and top-quality product? Especially if you can save money when you do this!

Young Living has a loyal customer option that rewards you for incorporating their amazing products into your life. This month’s newsletter explains in detail what this program called Essential Rewards is, what the benefits are, and how to get started and manage your monthly purchases in a sensible way.

Diffusers 101

Most people who enjoy essential oils are also interested diffusing them in order to enjoy the aromatherapy benefits. But often when getting started, they don’t know the best way to do this. They might start with a basic burner or fan type product and buy an inexpensive bottle of essential oil at the store without understanding much about the importance of quality or how to get the most benefits from the oils without changing the chemistry of what they are putting into the air.

This month’s Share Scents newsletter will focus on diffusers: The different types of diffusers and how to use them; tips for cleaning and maintaining your diffuser; ideas for selecting or making your own blends; and more. Click this link to access the Diffusers Newsletter.

Traveling Light with Essential Oils

Many years ago I discovered how helpful essential oils are in my overall wellness journey. As a seasoned traveler, I wanted to find ways to carry these oils with me everywhere I go. I started to look for innovative ways to carry the most health in the smallest space possible. I started by creating a compact assortment of some of my favorite essential oils. Soon I had created a collection of about 50 tiny bottles that fit nicely in my TSA approved quart baggie while still leaving room for a number of personal care items. Once a TSA agent held up my baggie and told me, “Now that’s the way to do this!” I smiled.

I admit, I don’t always take 50 oils with me, but the bottles are filled and ready for me to select the ones I want to take on any given trip or outing. I’ve learned how to fill small containers with some of my favorite products. For example, I fill empty Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier bottles for my shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, lotion, etc. They are a perfect size and save so much space in my quart baggie.

This month’s Share Scents Newsletter has many ideas of products that are important to include on your packing checklist so that you are always supporting wellness, even when traveling. Here’s the link for the Traveling Light Newsletter.

Love in the air

Marriage is a beautiful gift from God. When a couple falls in love and they commit to become one, they start down a path in life together. They are optimistic and excited about the future, but they really don’t know where that path will lead.

Maintaining a healthy and loving relationship over the years is another thing. They may fall into routines. So many things will factor into the success or failure of that union. Finances, children, health, crisis, communication, and yes, for sure, maintaining the romance.

Essential oils can be a wonderful addition to a couple’s sex life. Our newsletter “Love in the Air” is written to give you ideas of what oils can be an enjoyable addition to your bedroom experience. Several recipes are also included.

What’s in your gym bag?

When January rolls around each year many people set goals to get into better shape, drop some extra weight, or in some way work to improve their overall wellness.

There are many products on the market to support these efforts. Some work. Some don’t. Some are safe. Some are not so safe. How do we know what products to select to support our goals for the new year?

For many years I have been using products from Young Living Essential Oils. One reason is because the company has proven to me repeatedly that they can be trusted. They go to great lengths to source ingredients that are safe and pure. A dedicated and highly qualified team of scientists researchs every ingredient to be sure each product exceeds set standards to provide products that support a healthy lifestyle.

This month I decided to compile a list of some of my favorite products that you can use with confidence in your personal fitness regimen. Click here to access my January newsletter: What’s in Your Gym Bag

Working from home

This week we have had several days when the roads have been icy and driving has not been very much fun. It made me realize how thankful I am that I can work from home. What a blessing that is to me.

That was when I realized that I don’t think I have ever written about the financial benefits of sharing your love of essential oils with people you care about. A lot of people don’t realize that the best form of advertising is word of mouth, and that is how Young Living has chosen to market their amazing products.

We think nothing about telling a friend about a good movie we saw or a restaurant that serves some amazing food we had for dinner. It’s really the same thing when you tell someone how the Cool Azul Pain Cream eased your pain when the weather changed last week or how a Thieves Cough Drop cooled your throat and settled your cough!

The only difference is that the theater or restaurant isn’t going to send you a check for spreading the word for them. But Young Living DOES! Yep! I get a nice check every month from Young Living for educating people and sharing these products that I love and use. And YES, I do use and recommend the Pain Cream and Cough Drops!

It’s really easy to casually share and get some bonus checks for doing that, and it is also a great way to earn a first or second income. Check out this chart showing the earning potential for sharing your love for Young Living with others:

I’d love to answer your questions and help you get started earning some extra cash for the holidays or to help pay off a few bills or get those extras you’ve been putting off getting. Let’s talk!

Spice up your fall recipes!

Lately I have been seeing a lot of great recipes for traditional fall foods. You know… the ones we make for Thanksgiving or on into December and January. It made me think about how much I love Thieves Vitality! A couple of weeks ago I got my hands on some fresh raw apple cider. It was delicious, but SO MUCH BETTER once I warmed it up in a kettle and added a drop of Thieves Vitality! Oh my – YUM! I loved the thought that I was supporting my immune system while warming my tummy (and hands while holding the mug)!

Have you ever explored the possibilities of using your essential oils to boost flavor in your cooking and baking? It is so easy and inexpensive too.  Yes, there are essential oils that are approved by the FDA as “Generally Regarded As Safe for internal consumption (GRAS). Most brands are not approved for internal use, but Young Living has a line called Vitality, that are specifically labeled and safe for internal use!

I remember the time I first discovered this concept. I was making a recipe that called for fresh-squeezed organic lime juice. To have that would have required me to drive 45 minutes to the nearest store where I could purchase an organic lime. Not happening! Then I remembered I had some Lime Vitality essential oil. SCORE! So convenient and just perfect.

I’ve used this trick when I need fresh nutmeg, ginger, clove. Well, you get the idea!

I do have to mention that the essential oils are very potent so you must go very easy on this. Some might require that you only dip a toothpick to get just the right amount. Others you might need a drop or maybe 4-6 drops. It just depends. So the rule is “less is more.” You can always add more, but you can’t take it out after it’s in! And you surely don’t want to make six more batches just to tone down the flavor if you added too many drops! I have heard for example, that one drop of peppermint yields the same effect as 28 cups of peppermint tea. Yowza! Now that’s potent!

I have taught classes on the topic of cooking with oils and if that interests you, please send me an inquiry. Perhaps we can schedule a video conference for you and a few of your friends who love to cook!
