Boot Camp

Best yet to come

Sometimes we come to a crossroad in life when it is time to retrain. Time to learn a new way of doing things. Time to change old habits and develop new systems. I have come to that point.

Natural health has been a part of my life for more than 30 years and I first learned about essential oils over 15 years ago. About 6 years ago I started sharing my experiences with friends and family and expanding my knowledge about God’s medicine cabinet. It has been a fantastic journey. I have learned a lot and had the pleasure of sharing what I have learned with hundreds of people.

Just lately I realized it is time to learn a new way to share. A way that will empower others to take control of their own health. I cannot tell you what will work for you. Only you and your own medical professional can do that. I started taking a real close look at ways to share that will empower others to do what I have done without relying on me to hold their hands in the process.

So I joined a Boot Camp to speed up my retraining process. It is intense. For those familiar with the term Boot Camp, you know what I mean. It requires time, focus, energy and abandoning all other distractions. It means changing how you think and act.

I thought about what this means to my daily blogging activities. Something has to give. I realized I need to stop writing daily blogs for a short season until I can refocus and come back with even more power and vitality to share with readers. It’s not about me. It’s about helping and empowering YOU! Yes, I will be back. Perhaps not every day, but I will be back. And when I share, my goal will be to value your time and provide information that will empower you in your wellness journey.

So, thanks for being patient. Stay tuned. The best is yet to come!

Cold feet

Do you get cold feet? No, not the kind we think of in relationship to getting married or committing to do something outside our comfort zone. I mean feet that are cold all the time or maybe at night when it is time to sleep. As winter approaches, lots of people resort to wearing bed socks to keep warm at night. But I have another idea.

If your feet are cold because you need to improve circulation, you might want to give this DIY recipe a try.

Cold feet

In a 15 ml bottle, add the following essential oils:

  • 2 drops cypress
  • 2 drops neroli
  • 2 drops lemon
  • 2 drops geranium

Then fill the bottle the rest of the way with V-6 Mixing Oil, or another organic carrier oil such as Olive, Almond or Grapeseed oil.

For added warmth, you could also add a drop of black pepper essential oil.

Massage your feet (or hands if they are cold) and feel the warmth! You can also gently massage up the lower leg to cover areas that supply blood to the feet.

Salt

Living a life filled with optimal health is a total lifestyle approach. It involves what you eat, what you drink, what you do, your attitudes, what you put on your body and so much more. From time to time I run across information that has nothing to do with essential oils but is useful information for people trying to live a healthy lifestyle.

Recently I saw this comparison between common table salt and Himalayan pink salt and decided to share it with you today. It reinforced my reasons for using sea salt and Himalayan salt. Notice the toxic additions to common table salt that can cause multiple health concerns versus the natural benefits in Himalayan salt. To me it’s a no-brainer!

Sinus support

SInus blend

Do you ever feel like your sinuses could use a little help? I have been feeling that way this week, so I dug a little and found this recipe to try as a home remedy.

Sinus Blend

  • 20 drops Lemongrass
  • 20 drops Ocotea
  • 20 drops Idaho Blue Spruce
  • 10 drops Copaiba
  • 10 drops Eucalyptus Blue
  • 6 drops Peppermint
  • 6 drops Release blend

There are several ways to use this blend.

  • Apply a few drops topically over the sinus areas on the face and down the sides of the neck below the ears.
  • Place a few drops in an inhaler tube and sniff periodically.
  • Add a few drops to a Neti Pot sinus rinse solution and use as directed.
  • Rub a few drops over the vitaflex/reflex points on the feet that correspond to the sinuses.
  • Add a few drops to boiling water and place a towel over your head to make a tent and breathe deeply.

Smile! It’s a breath of fresh air!
