Hospital Acquired Infections

Hospitals can be a dangerous place. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says that hospital-acquired infections now affect one in 25 patients.

According to the CDC, there were an estimated 722,000 Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs) in U.S acute care hospitals in 2011. About 75,000 hospital patients with HAIs died during their hospitalizations. More than half of all HAIs occurred outside of the intensive care unit.

My number one line of defense when entering a hospital or doctor’s office is Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier. This product is 100% non-toxic and safe. Rather than using toxic wood alcohol, like most hand sanitizers do, this product is made with grain alcohol. And instead of being denatured with toxic chemicals, it is denatured with peppermint essential oil. Thieves Watherless Hand Purifier smells great, and best of all, after using it, the germ-killing effects of the essential oils continue to protect from pathogens for several hours!

My second favorite product is Thieves Spray. Again, it is a powerful tool for warding off all sorts of unwanted germs. It can be sprayed in the air as a deodorizing disinfectant, and yet is safe enough that I have sprayed it in my mouth without worry of being poisoned. I mean really, when was the last time you used your room deodorizer as a breath spray?

Yes, we do get exposed to lots of things when we are out and about, but these are two products I carry with me all the time!
