Sleep Stress & Sadness

We all know that stress, sleep, and sadness are three words that do not pair well together. Too much stress usually equals too little sleep, which in turn leaves us tired, cranky, and more stressed. Add sadness to the mix, and you have the potential for the “perfect storm”!

Research shows that not getting enough sleep can affect your mood, relationships and health. Living in a constant state of stress can disrupt many of our body’s processes and create an increased risk for many health problems including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Digestive problems
  • Headaches
  • Heart disease
  • Sleep problems
  • Weight gain
  • Memory and concentration impairment

So how do we stop the vicious cycle? This newsletter will focus on natural and healthy ideas to help you cope with the stressors of life. Click here to access the Stress, Sleep & Sadness newsletter:

Skin Care Secrets

Keeping the appearance of our skin at its best can sometimes feel overwhelming and even confusing. Gone are the days when grandma had just soap and water, or perhaps rose water! Today there are hundreds if not thousands of products available to maintain beautiful skin. But are they all safe? Are they all necessary? Which ones do I need?

Although skin care includes the skin all over our body (and certainly we care about or hands, feet, elbows, etc.), one area we tend to focus on more than the rest is our face! We want to look our best and as they say, put our best face forward!

There are several basic skin types:

  1. Normal – Firm, supple, equal balance
  2. Oily – Large pores, easily developing blemishes, maintains its youthful appearance well
  3. Dry – Scaly, lacking natural oils, sensitive – especially in harsh weather
  4. Combination – Dry skin with shiny oily areas (forehead, chin, nose), difficult to maintain
  5. Mature – Loses its elasticity, prone to wrinkles and damage, needs hydration and nourishment

Which skin type are you? Did you know that you should be caring for your skin differently, based on what skin type you are? As I age, I’m discovering new challenges I never had before in maintaining my youthful appearance.

This newsletter will unlock some secrets and suggestions for routines and amazing plant-based products for skin care for your skin type. Click this link to access the newsletter: Skin Care Newsletter

Then, If you would like to dig deeper, here’s the link to more details you will find beneficial in your efforts to put your best face forward! Skin Care for your Skin Type

Hormones for Him and Her

It’s no secret that when our hormone levels are off, so are we.

Your endocrine system consists of the glands in your body that produce hormones, including the thyroid, pancreas, ovaries (women) and testes (men) and more.

Hormones are chemical messengers in your body that regulate metabolism, growth and development, tissue function, sexual function, reproduction, sleep, and mood, among other things. These messengers are produced by the glands and secreted directly into the circulatory system so that homeostasis (balance) is maintained.

When our hormones are out of balance, it can lead to rapid aging and increased risk of discomfort or disease that can manifest in many ways.

Your body is constantly trying to keep your system in balance but it’s no small task. Things like stress, insufficient diets, poor food choices, inadequate sleep, synthetic hormones, genetics, and less active lifestyles can throw hormones out of whack and create health problems.

But there is good news! Young Living has products to support your body in this delicate balancing act!

Your Wellness Journey

Do you consider yourself to be at your optimal level of health? Do you have a plan for how to achieve that?

Wellness encompasses all the choices we make. It’s impossible to have a healthy lifestyle if we continue to use products containing harmful chemicals, or if we are eating foods that do not give us life-giving fuel to add to our vitality.

Wellness also encompasses our emotional and spiritual life, which we have covered in other blog posts.

This month we will focus on “Your Wellness Journey,” and our newsletter is packed with some great information and ideas for a three-month plan to kick your journey up a notch or more!
